2:30 p.m. Nourishing meals class with Kristen Martinek of Enjoy This Organic Life
During Kristen’s workshop, attendees will learn what it entails to nourish ourselves intuitively and shift our diets according to the seasons and our cycles. Kristen will go through each phase of our cycles and discuss how it alters hormones; subsequently changing our energy levels & dietary requirements. Attendees will learn ways to connect with and listen to their body and how to holistically support their individual needs through their dietary and movement choices.
Kristen Martinek is deeply passionate about holistic wellness, living simply, mindfully and sustainably, and stewarding the Earth and her relationships with gentle consciousness. After studying nutrition in her undergraduate, Kristen felt there to be a strong disconnect between how government funded nutrition was being taught & implemented, to how she intuitively viewed heath. It was from this disconnect that led her on a journey of exploring health from the ground up, starting on an organic farm in Hawaii. It was there Kristen began to connect with Health on an intuitive, holistic and inclusive level. The seed had been planted here, however, her journey was not linear. After exploring so many different self-imposed dietary approaches, from vegetarian, to vegan, to raw vegan... Kristen came to realize years later nutrition is not about just the foods we consume (and don’t). True health comes from embodying the notion that one diet does not fit all, that one diet does not fit one person necessarily from season to season and as women, our food choices vary throughout the month according to our cycles. When we let go of labels, of the “shoulds” and reconnect with what our bodies are truly asking for, we step into one of the most sacred parts of nourishing our Womanhood. Kristen worked for Raleigh’s Hillside Farm in 2018.
